Hoya Silver Splash | medium
Enjoy beautiful variegated foliage, lovely flowers, and a sweet fragrance all from one super-easy-care plant! Silver Splash Hoya (Hoya krohniana Silver Splash) sports dark green heart-shaped foliage liberally dapped in silver. Primarily in spring and summer, it bears clusters of sweetly scented white flowers (they’re surprisingly fragrant for their size).
Like a lot of other Hoya varieties, Silver Splash is considered a low-maintenance variety because of its drought tolerance. It can survive a few weeks without water if it has to (but grows best when watered regularly).
Grow Silver Splash Hoya as a trailing plant where it can cascade gracefully from a hanging basket or plant shelf. You can also train it up a trellis, hoop, or other structure for a more formal look.
Order now and yours we’ll hand-pick yours and send it out for shipping, fresh from our farm direct to your door. Shipping, handling, and a heat pack (if needed) is included in the price.

Hoya krohniana Silver Splash
Â
Hoya krohniana originates from tropical rainforests of areas of Southeast Asia. It’s closely related to Hoya lacunosa—and there are some in the plant community who say this plant is actually a type of lauconsa, rather than a type of krohniana. But our original source for this plant tells us they’re confident that it’s a krohniana.
This climbing/trailing houseplant thrives in bright light (but tolerates medium and even lower light levels; it just doesn’t bloom much, if at all, without good light). To keep it growing its best, look for a location within about 3 feet from a good-sized east or west window. Water it as the half of the potting mix dries out before giving it its next drink of water. It’s quite drought tolerant and can dry out more, if it has to. But do take care not to overwater—it is susceptible to root rot if it stays too wet. Average room temperatures and humidity are perfectly fine for this low-maintenance houseplant (though above-average relative humidity will lead to a happier plant).
Â
Note: This plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested. Additionally, exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact. Grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption.
